Shepherd sighted in Toronto?

On an early Thursday morning, I was half awake cycling in Taylor Creek Park. Out of the corner of my eye, a movement caught my eye. A dog was running pell mell along the trail towards me. But, what had me doing a double take was the dog’s human, a gentleman on a scooter. He had a full beard of white hair, a hat reminiscent of the shepherd from the movie “Babe” and even a Fair Isle knit sweater. Was he a shepherd visiting the city and giving his sheepdog a good run? Although, who was taking care of the sheep back home? Or, maybe someone who shows dogs and has found the easiest way to keep the dogs fit without breaking a sweat? Or, is this just how hip dog owners take their dogs for runs in Toronto?
